" Welcome "
The Model Trains Station is now located in the Taylors Mill Development in Taylors, South Carolina. We occupy 16,000 square feet in the Bleachery section of Taylors Mill Development. An exciting feature of this location is the main line train tracks of Norfolk Southern just behind our building. They have trains passing by on a regular schedule. This is an ideal location for building and enjoying model trains.
Phase One for the year 2017 was aimed at finding a long term location. During 2017 we constructed and electrified the structural walls to house our train displays at Taylors Mill for your enjoyment. We officially opened for visitors the first of December with two HO sale displays and a 50% enlargement of your beloved Lionel O scale Christmas display.
Phase Two started the first of January 2018. We have now added, for your enjoyment, a new N scale display with four running trains. We are now in the construction process of working on a second N sale display along with an expanded G scale display. There will also be visitor friendly interactive controls for the G scale display. In the future, we are still going to build a free lance train display like the one that we had in downtown Greenville by Falls Park.
The Christmas display has changed from winter to spring-summer, and will feature Thomas the Train. The newly added controls will create an opportunity for your "little engineers" to run Thomas the Train on this display.
We are a registered non-profit 501(c)(3) organization. All donations are tax deductible.
Your continued donations that have been received during our reorganization have been greatly appreciated and have allowed us to proceed in our endeavor to create a space for building train themed layouts. We know a lot of you cannot wait to try running your own trains on the different displays.
As a not-for-profit organization, the Model Trains Station depends on individual donations and corporate sponsors to bring the best train associated activities to the upstate of South Carolina. Your generous financial support continues to be of the utmost importance.
We did not know how many enthusiastic G scale people who wanted to get involved in designing the G scale display. Thank you all. With our late start in construction of our building of the structural walls and in getting our Certificate of Occupancy license, we started early January in the actual construction of the G scale display.
We need your continued help in spreading the word for train lovers of all kinds that we are a viable organization. New donations will help us buy lumber, electrical supplies, paint, and scenery material that are ahead of us. Thank you train lovers for all your help.
